In this report, the consulting firm Gartner, a specialist in digital transformation and automation, focuses on transformational technologies or approaches that meet the needs of end users. It assesses the RPA software product providers not service providers that use RPA capabilities licensed by another vendor.

Above all, it appears that the RPA software market remains a rapidly growing segment. Its revenue grew by 31% to $2.4 billion in 2021, well above the global software market's average growth rate of 16%. It is very competitive, with a constantly evolving supplier landscape. In fact, the market included more than 60 suppliers as of mid-2022 and has seen frequent mergers and acquisitions over the past year.

RPA is used in various business functions to automate tactical tasks.
